What Came First, The Chicken or The Egg?

Well in this case, the chicken came first.

On a former poultry farm now stands the growing development of Viver Green by eggHOMES.

Viver Green started from a walk on a summer’s day. Our co-founder Ashley Reece, a local to the Heversham area regularly walked his dog, Harry, past the former poultry farm that sat in ruins. Until one day he stopped and fell for the mysterious beauty and possibilities of the land that was covered in asbestos and chicken sheds.

He was overcome with a eureka moment, that he and other co-founder Chris Nelson could build a development with a difference. One phone call and several pints later the brain child of eggHOMES was born.

Local architect Graham Bywater of Bywater and Tweedale was set with the gargantuan task of designing a dream home. Several weeks later, the edgy, healthy houses were set in stone.

Using several industry leading technologies, eggHOMES houses were not only good to look at but they were healthy and sustainable.

Designed to use low amounts of energy with a high Energy Performance Rating of A and SAP ratings of 92-98%, SAP surveyors have described the development as “one of the best performing developments they have ever seen”.

eggHOMES houses are aided by Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV panels and Ventilation systems used to circulate air throughout the unique homes.

The houses are deliberately unique and different to other housing developments.  Ashley’s inspiration came from the merging of traditional techniques with cutting edge technologies, such as the creation of traditional dry stone boundary walls in comparison to the aluminum fence panels from Australia. The company’s vision is contagious; from the beginning of the build, it had been eggHOMES dream  to create something unique .Something that the housing industry is definelty missing!

Pioneers in the sustainable luxury industry eggHOMES are one to watch and our homes are all about the future.  With positive reviews in the Sunday Times, GQ and The NY Times, it is safe to say that we are building sustainable luxury homes that are getting noticed!
